What to know

The Nivada Grenchen Autochron looks back to the expressive chronograph dials of the 1970s, particularly the unusual register typography associated with Singer-made exotic dials. This version introduces a gradient orange chapter ring and matching chronograph hand around a black dial with recessed pale counters.

The design is more than a colour change. Revised luminous markers provide a cleaner face, and the rotating bezel now uses a 120-click mechanism rather than the earlier friction system. The combination of diving bezel, tachymeter markings and prominent elapsed-time counters gives the watch a particularly busy but purposeful vintage instrument appearance.

Its 38mm steel case houses an ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph and provides 200 metres of water resistance. With leather, rubber and bracelet options, the Autochron is designed for wear rather than purely archival appreciation. The orange palette makes it a particularly memorable entry in a category full of monochrome retro references.
