What to know

Most affordable GMT watches present themselves as expedition equipment, with thick bezels and aggressive numerals. Montréal-based Héron takes the opposite route. Its Mirabel GMT uses a clean sector-style dial, Roman numerals and elegant case curves to put travel functionality into a design closer to a dress watch.

The automatic Miyota 9075 provides an independently adjustable local hour hand, offering real convenience when crossing borders. Depending on the version, restrained blued hands and a cabochon-style crown reinforce the more formal aesthetic. The Mirabel is a reminder that a second time zone is useful in a city or an airport lounge, not only on an adventure watch.
