What to know

October 2026 has been a busy month for ChronoLume, but the most interesting watch does not have to be the most expensive. We reviewed our published watch features and checked manufacturer or retailer list prices for models whose advertised prices fall below €1,000. That produced 31 qualifying ChronoLume features—from inexpensive quartz and solar designs to quirky independent automatics and limited Japanese editions.

Baltic Hermétique The Rift: two sizes, each listed at €620 — Baltic Hermétique The Rift 34mm and 37mm

Price methodology: figures were checked around 13 October 2026. Euro figures use available EU or Belgian listings; prices originally quoted in dollars, sterling, yen or Hong Kong dollars are labelled and converted approximately using contemporary exchange rates. Conversions are for comparison only. Shipping, VAT on imports, duties and payment fees can push the delivered cost above €1,000. Pre-orders, sold-out releases and foreign-market exclusives are still included when their advertised base prices qualify.

THE ACCESSIBLE END: WATCHES AROUND €200–€400. This group contains some of the boldest ideas in the roundup. Digital technology, quartz chronographs and solar power leave more room in the budget for unusual dial treatments and wearable case design.

Casio G-SHOCK MUDMAN GDG-B100 — ¥38,500 ≈ €217. The October MUDMAN brings a high-contrast MIP screen, mud-resistant construction, Bluetooth tools and a 200-metre rating. This is Japanese domestic pricing, not a confirmed Belgian retail price. Full ChronoLume feature

Vostra Vector Electro Yellow — US$279 ≈ €249. A retro-futurist steel chronograph powered by Seiko's VK63 meca-quartz. Bold yellow surfaces and a striking geometric case make it unusually expressive at the price. Full ChronoLume feature

Orient Flusso, including the red-gradient limited model — Japanese RRP ¥45,100 ≈ €254. The redesigned integrated SK-inspired automatic offers sapphire, 100-metre resistance and more than 40 hours of reserve. The featured limited colourway is scheduled for November, and European pricing is not yet established. Full ChronoLume feature

THE SEIKO ANNIVERSARY FOOTNOTE. Five separately featured 145th-anniversary references clear the €1,000 ceiling: HDB003 (€450), HCB006 (€620), HFL001 (€670), HBJ005 (€790) and HBC006 (€980). The Astron anniversary model lies above the limit. The accompanying Seiko collection overview discusses the family, but it is not counted again as an extra watch. Similarly, the two Panda variants, the two Baltic Rift sizes and Tissot's dial colour choices are covered together in their respective feature articles.

WHICH WOULD WE CHOOSE? For timeless visual design, the Mondaine Doppio Solar and Timex E Line make a convincing case. For automatic value, Baltic's Hermétique and Henry Archer's Vesterhav are hard to ignore. If character matters more than discretion, consider Vostra's yellow Vector, TSAO's Old Bay or Seiko's literal pandas. The €895 Hamilton Scuba is perhaps the most straightforward everyday mechanical sports watch here; the €980 Alpinist is a more adventurous field-watch alternative.

Availability is not a criterion for this editorial price index: a watch may be sold out, open for pre-order, or available only in Japan or through crowdfunding. Likewise, different case sizes, bracelets and colourways can carry different prices. Always verify the precise reference, final tax-inclusive price and delivery terms before buying. This article describes watches already featured on ChronoLume; it is not a shopping endorsement or hands-on comparative test.
